X-Ray Safety

At our pediatric dental office, the safety of our patients is our top priority. We understand that parents may have concerns about their child's exposure to radiation during dental x-rays, and we want to assure you that we take every precaution to minimize the risk of radiation exposure for your child.

Modern Digital Imaging

First and foremost, we use digital x-ray technology, which significantly reduces the amount of radiation exposure compared to traditional film x-rays. Digital x-rays emit up to 90% less radiation and produce high-resolution images that allow for faster, more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Only When Necessary

We also take a conservative approach to x-rays, and only take x-rays when necessary. Our dentist will evaluate your child's individual needs and recommend x-rays based on their oral health and risk of decay or other dental issues. Additionally, we keep accurate records of all x-rays taken and follow the guidelines set by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry on the frequency of x-rays.

Above and Beyond

We also take extra precautions to protect our patients during the x-ray process. Our team members are trained to use lead aprons and thyroid collars to shield the patient's head, neck, and thorax during the procedure, and they also follow the recommended safety protocols to ensure that the patient's exposure to radiation is as low as reasonably achievable.
